Introduction to article searches

Modified on Thu, 13 Nov at 1:56 PM

The article search is the easiest way to find articles by keyword or theme. Filters are available to further refine your search.

There are three different types of searches:

With the “Simple search” option, you can quickly search using individual keywords.

With the “Extended search” option, you can create and customise complex searches that use multiple keywords in a clear graphical format.

You can configure additional settings for each keyword.

Search professionals also have access to another search type: the “Syntax search” with full search syntax support.

Each type of search browses through the following parts of an article:

  • Headline
  • Article body copy
  • Captions

The hits list displays all the results for your search. By clicking on the headline, you can also view a complete preview of the article.

All the searches you have created, whether simple or advanced, can be saved and revisited. You can have searches run automatically on a daily basis and be notified via so-called alerts of relevant articles, with a preview of the hits list, by email.

The article preview option and alerts are available with the Premium product package or as a paid add-on.
