None or unexpectedly few hits
If you have found no hits or just a very few hits from your search, check the following points:
- The “Date/Issue” filter could be limited to, for example, “Today”. Select a longer period of time.
- The “New since previous search” could be active, meaning only hits are shown which you have not yet seen. Select a longer period of time.
- Check your keywords if they are spelt correctly.
- Did you set a filter for media that limits the number of media searched? Activate “All media” in the filter settings to search all media.
- Have keywords changed? For instance, has the name of a person changed, but your search still contains the previous name? Adjust your saved search.
- Check the delivery status. It is possible that media for which you frequently receive hits are having difficulty today making their articles available in the PMG MediaMonitor database.
If the tips mentioned here do not help, there is always the possibility that no suitable hits for your search appeared in articles within that particular period of time. If you have any doubts about whether your search is being performed correctly, please contact our support team at support@presse-monitor.de.
Many irrelevant hits
If many of your hits contain the keywords you entered but are still not relevant to you, look at the relevant and irrelevant hits and try to identify recurring patterns:
- Are relevant hits only appearing in a few recurring media? You can select these media in the “Media” filter. Then you will only see hits from these media.
- Conversely, do irrelevant hits appear exclusively in a few recurring media? You can exclude these media in the filter settings.
- Are there certain keywords that always appear in relevant hits but never in irrelevant hits? Add these keywords to your search.
- Conversely, are certain keywords appearing in irrelevant hits that are never included in relevant hits? Exclude these keywords.
